Edson A. Bostic

Edson A. Bostic is the Federal Public Defender for the District of Delaware.  Mr. Bostic has defended major criminal cases in Pennsylvania, New York and Delaware and is responsible for overseeing the defense of indigent defendants in the District of Delaware.  

Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Bostic served as the Pro Se Law Clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Mr. Bostic then worked as an Assistant Defender for the Broome County, New York Public Defender's Office and for the Defender Association of Philadelphia.

Mr. Bostic left the Defender Association to join Cozen O'Conner, a Philadelphia law firm, followed by a brief stint as a principal in a small law firm.  Mr. Bostic returned to the Defender Association of Philadelphia, where he spent the next 12 years of his career and served as the Managing Attorney for the Defender Association's Allentown Branch.  In November 2006, Mr. Bostic joined the Federal Defender for the District of Delaware as the Acting Federal Public Defender. 

Mr. Bostic has taught trial advocacy at Widener University School of Law and the Beasley School of Law at Temple University and brings substantial civil and criminal litigation experience to the Defender's Office.
