Luis Ortiz

Luis Ortiz is an Assistant Federal Public Defender for the District of Delaware.  Mr. Ortiz has complex federal jury trial experience and an extensive knowledge of the federal sentencing guidelines and federal criminal procedure. 

As a law student, Mr. Ortiz served as president of the Latino American Law Association and participated in moot court trials. Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Ortiz joined the Defender Association of Philadelphia, where he developed significant trial experience, served as a rotating supervisor of the Juvenile Division and handled major trials of young habitual offenders.

Mr. Ortiz has taught clinical classes in federal defense and criminal practice and procedure at the Beasley School of Law at Temple University, and is completely bilingual in Spanish and English.
